Ankeny United Methodist Church wipes away the tears of Wilson Village

People need clean and safe water to be health. Recognizing this, Ankeny United Methodist church has drilled a borehole in Wilson village in response to their cry for clean water.

The current water supply in Wilson Village

“Since Malawi got independence, Wilson village has never had clean water. This led to loss of lives especially under-five children due to diarrheal diseases. We would like to thank the church for assisting government to give us clean water thereby saving lives. Our women will no longer walk 5 – 7 kms  to get clean drinking water now that we have the borehole within us”, said local chief Wilson in appreciation for the borehole.

According to the driller, Wilson village should have access to the borehole (clean water) 7 days from the day we visited the site (29th June, 2012).

Clean and safe water is crucial for life. Thank you Ankeny for making a difference in these people’s lives. You have saved Wilson village from fetching dirty diseased water from a pit.
