Heavy rains destroy a church building in Mangulama

Heavy rains have destroyed houses and a church building in Mangulama, Mulanje district. Some houses were completely collapsed while others are surviving on two or three walls, a situation which has caused the nursery school to be  operating under a tree.

According to Mr Chimatiro, who is the lay leader of the church, these children are sent back home when its raining because they have nowhere to hide, meaning missing their lessons and meal for that day. “Our wish is to build a strong church after the rainy season to prevent this disaster again in future”, said Chimatiro.
